Sleek Blush By3 Palette – Initial thoughts

What is it?

A Sleek blusher palette containing 3 shades of blusher – 2 matte shades and one shimmery shade. The one I have is shown here and is the orange/peach/coral palette.

Initial thoughts:

These palettes come in a few different colour ways and contain 3 highly pigmented blusher colours all in a sleek black palette ideal for travelling.

These are highly pigmented, smooth, blendable and great value for money. In the palette I bought, there are two matte shades – a bright orange and a bright coral – and a shimmery peach too. I can’t say I know about the other colour ways as I didn’t look at them properly in the shop but I believe that there’s a pink toned palette and also a brown/bronze coloured one. I would assume the ratio of matte to shimmery shades would be the same for the other palette but perhaps not. If you have any of the others then feel free to comment below and let us all know!

Worth the money?

As with all the Sleek make up I own, I was thoroughly impressed. The matte shades are pigmented and smooth, these colours aren’t chalky and it’s great to have a shimmery shade and matte shades all in one palette. The packaging is great for travelling, sturdy and yet not to bulky – sleek, slim and simple with the added bonus of a large mirror.

These palettes cost £9.99 here in the UK and are available from the Sleek website or Superdrug.

MAC Hey, Sailor! What’s in my box and swatches!!

These are the items that I ordered from the new collection.

Highlight powder ‘Crew’

Initial thoughts: I like this a lot, however, I was really surprised that it swatches a very pale pink colour. It has less of a sheen than a normal highlighting powder and is a fairly odd colour.

Having said this, the stripes of colour are just an over spray so I’m expecting it to swatch an off – white colour after the stripes have worn away.

 Blusher ‘Fleet Fast’

Initial thoughts: Lovely mid-toned peachy pink, shows up very well on the skin so a light hand is needed with this blusher. The above photograph I would say shows the colour to be ever so slightly more pink than it actually is in person.

Lipstick ‘Sail La Vie’

Initial thoughts: This is supposed to be a bright coral colour (excuse the lighting on the picture – it was a very grey day!) and in comparison to a true red it looks coral, however, on the lips, to me it’s not a true coral. I feel like it looks like less of a coral and more of a bright orange red. Still love it though!

Lip Pencil ‘Throw Me a Line!’ (pro longwear)

Initial thoughts: True red long – lasting lip pencil. Glides smoothly, nicely pigmented and stayed put all day!

Lipglass ‘Blessedly Rich’

Initial thoughts: Very pigmented, quite shimmery but gorgeous burnt orangey colour with golden shimmer. I feel this colour is very unique.

Here are the items I have swatched for you: Left to Right : Sail la Vie, Throw Me a Line, Blessedly Rich, Fleet Fast and Crew

As always, these products are available from the official MAC website as well as free standing stores and some department stores. Most of the items in the collection are LIMITED EDITION so if you like any of them, get them quick!
