Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Eyeliners

image

What Are They?

Glitter gel eyeliners to add a bit of sparkle to your look.

The Review:

I originally bought the silver colour for my auntie as she was going to a silver themed party. As she didn’t use it, she gave it back to me so I decided to put it on over the liner I already had and it looked so pretty!

The first thing I noticed is the nice, fine brush on the applicator, it made applying the product easy and went on nice and neatly. The second thing I noticed was how pigmented the liner was.

My past experiences with other high street brands of glitter liners have not been very positive as I find that you get a lot of clear gel liner and perhaps a few specs of glitter – hardly the lovely solid glitter line you buy the product for.

These liners however, are beautifully pigmented and give you the full line of glitter. Not only this but it lasts a long time too and after wearing it a few more times, it easily lasts a good 6/7 hours on me.

Anything past that I cannot comment on as I haven’t worn it for longer but it looked exactly same as when first applied after that length of time, AND, without any glittery fallout falling onto my face.

The colour range is great and I now have 4 shades, a silver (Hustle) , a gold (Funk), a black and silver (Rock Chick) and a bright purpley blue (Shake It Up!).

Here are the colours swatched for you

Worth the Money?

These retail for an amazing £2.99 each and are readily available on the highstreet in places like Superdrug and Boots.

If you ask me, these are an absolute bargain and so pretty on the eyes.  Affordable, gorgeous, readily available and an excellent shade range – what’s not to like?

Amazing Shine Lashes

What are they?

Excellent quality fake lashes made from 100% human hair.

The Review:

Having tried many other brands of eyelashes including Eyelure, Mac, Ardell and some other random ones I was keen to try these on the recommendation of the Pixiwoo sisters. They are make up artists and have their own very successful youtube channel.

I initially ordered about 5 pairs, a combination of the 747 L, 747 M and the 43 lashes. The 747 lashes are your bog standard naturally full, long lashes so I ordered 3 pairs of the medium length in this style and one of the long as well as the 43 lashes which are longer on the outer section to give that feathered cat-eye look.

I was already impressed with the fact that on basic lash styles you are given different lash lengths to choose from, something which I haven’t seen from any other brands. The 747 are available in Long, Medium, Small and on Amazon I even found Extra Small.

This brand offers a wide range of styles and lengths varying from shorter more natural lashes to very long, thick and even more costume designs that are brightly coloured. Having been testing them out and loving each of the styles I bought already, I have since ordered a wider range of styles for my collection.

The lash band is thin and clear as opposed to black, giving you the option of skipping any kind of liner as you don’t notice the lash band. This is something that I’m very pleased about as I often find covering the lash band on thicker, black bands of fake lashes a bit annoying but am unable to skip liner as I like the band hidden. Not only does the lash band go unnoticed, these lashes are very comfortable to wear. The only possible thing I can think of that would bother some people is that they don’t come with glue, however, you can buy a big tube of Duo Adhesive Lash Glue from amazon or beauty websites and that will last you ages and work a treat. Alternatively, Amazing Shine also sells lash glue in the tube or brush on for under £4. Bargain!

I haven’t experienced any watering  or irritation to my eyes near the corners where this would normally occur. All in all these are my go to lashes, for the price, comfort and range of styles, you really can’t beat these!

Worth the Money?

These retail for £1.99 from Blush Cosmetics.com and are ridiculous value for money. I’d take these over the MAC ones any day! They are cheap, excellent quality and the most comfortable eyelashes I have tried! These are also readily available from Amazon, although depending on postage, a little more expensive.

Sleek Blush By3 Palette – Initial thoughts

sleekblushby3

What is it?

A Sleek blusher palette containing 3 shades of blusher – 2 matte shades and one shimmery shade. The one I have is shown here and is the orange/peach/coral palette.

Initial thoughts:

These palettes come in a few different colour ways and contain 3 highly pigmented blusher colours all in a sleek black palette ideal for travelling.

These are highly pigmented, smooth, blendable and great value for money. In the palette I bought, there are two matte shades – a bright orange and a bright coral – and a shimmery peach too. I can’t say I know about the other colour ways as I didn’t look at them properly in the shop but I believe that there’s a pink toned palette and also a brown/bronze coloured one. I would assume the ratio of matte to shimmery shades would be the same for the other palette but perhaps not. If you have any of the others then feel free to comment below and let us all know!

Worth the money?

As with all the Sleek make up I own, I was thoroughly impressed. The matte shades are pigmented and smooth, these colours aren’t chalky and it’s great to have a shimmery shade and matte shades all in one palette. The packaging is great for travelling, sturdy and yet not to bulky – sleek, slim and simple with the added bonus of a large mirror.

These palettes cost £9.99 here in the UK and are available from the Sleek website or Superdrug.

Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Smokey Eyes Mascara

What is it?

A new mascara by Maybelline based on the original Volume Express Colossal but with the addition of black matte eyeshadow to the formula to give a smokey look.

The Review

The brush is really big but surprisingly easy to use and control – it grabs all of the lashes including the ones right in the corners. I have to say, I don’t quite understand the addition of the eyeshadow to the formula, to me it doesn’t necessarily look more smokey but does make the lashes noticeably more matte.
I love Maybelline mascaras in general and the original Volume Express is a staple in my make up bag. I can’t really see a smokey effect personally but there is definitely something a bit different about it, to me it seems to give the lashes a really volumising feathery effect.
Worth the Money?
I love this mascara, it’s long wearing, doesn’t flake on me and gives the lashes lots of volume and some added length. I often feel like the more high street or ‘drugstore’ brands’ offering of mascaras are way better value for money and at £7.99 for a tube this one is no different.
This mascara is available from Boots, Superdrug, larger chain supermarkets with a make up section and as always, the official Maybelline website:

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

What is it?

A top selling mascara that promises to lengthen, curl, volumise, lift AND separate.

The Review

I am a complete ‘drugstore’ mascara kind of girl and never ever felt the need to fork out on high end mascaras. There are some brilliant cheaper ones out there particularly from Maybelline and L’oreal.

I decided to try this one only because of the hype surrounding it and the fact that my boyfriend convinced me to treat myself!

All I can say is WOW. I am so glad I bought this mascara.
The claims made by Benefit were big ones and this mascara had a lot to live up to but in my eyes (see what I did there…) it certainly did just that.

The brush is an absolute delight to use and separates lashes perfectly with hardly a clump in sight and there’s the added bonus on the spikey end to get even the tiniest corner lashes.

When I’m wearing this my lashes look amazing and I always get compliments. I also love the fact that unlike other mascaras that give a good dark look, this doesn’t clump and look really spidery and fake.

The formula is long lasting, gorgeously deep, stays on all day and doesn’t smudge – perfection!

The only thing I will say about this product is that it stays so well that it is more difficult than most other mascaras (even waterproof ones) to take off.

However, if you have an issue with finding most mascaras smudge on you then this could be a good one, and of course knowing that its going to stay looking fresh all day is no bad thing!

Worth the Money?

This is a pricey product – it’s £18.50 for a tube and to me it’s worth it as I have a good set of dark lashes but they’re fairly straight and I would like them to be longer. If your lashes are a key feature or something you feel is lacking then this is perfect. This will certainly be a repurchase for me!

This product is available from Benefit free standing stores, counters at some department stores such as Debenhams and of course, the official online website.

Estee Lauder Haul & Initial Thoughts

I went shopping with my mum at the weekend and set out to find a much lighter foundation…

I let the lovely Estee Lauder lady do my make up (my mum had hers done too) and I came away with this lovely lot … oopsie!

Initial thoughts: Estee Lauder Signature 5 tone Shimmer Powder – 01 Pink Shimmer

Normally I am a peachy colour blusher kind of girl but after seeing this on my face I was convinced that a bit of pink is no bad thing! This is such a young, fresh medium pink that will suit fair and medium skin. This has a gorgeous sheen to it and brightens the complexion for a fresher, younger look.

I also love the fact that this is actually a ‘shimmer powder’ you could use the colours seperately if you want to on yours eyes too… and the packaging is yummy!

Initial thoughts: Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara – 01 Extreme Black

I like to try different mascaras, normally however I stick to the cheaper brands like Maybelline and L’oreal because I honestly believe they make the best ones.

However, the lovely Estee Lauder lady, Jodie, used this on me and I loved it. Its just a really lovely deep black, doesn’t look clumpy and I like wand on it.

Initial thoughts: Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick – 01 Crystal Baby

I love this colour, it’s a soft neatral peachy pink, almost like a ‘my lips but better’ shade with a subtle sheen. Very wearable and will suit most skin tones.

The foundation I bought that you can see in the first picture I will be doing a full review on so will not feature in this initial thoughts type post. It deserves its very own post!

The products shown in this post are available at most department stores and online :
