What is it?
An oil-free sunblock for the face that protects the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays as well as damaging free radicals. SPF40.
This product, as with all Clinique products is allergy tested and fragrance free. This goes on nicely and doesn’t make my skin shiny at all. The high SPF means its great all year round, especially in the height of summer, but remember lovelies! Winter sun can be just as damaging to your skin!
This product is great for the beach or for every day wear with no make up but I found that when I used it under my foundation I didn’t like the finish as much. My foundation didn’t blend as well and was rather difficult to work with which was not appreciated! I use the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation or the Lancome Teint Miracle and it didn’t work brilliantly for me under either. That’s not to say that it won’t under other foundations but be aware it may change the finish for you like it did with me.
Now, when I say it didn’t work brilliantly under my foundation, I’m not saying it looked bad because it absolutely didn’t. I just didn’t like the fact that it changed the way my foundation felt and looked, it was different than it normally feels and to me, I choose a foundation for the finish and how it looks on my skin. To put something on underneath it to find my normal make up was different over the top was just a little disappointing.
Normally I expect a primer (which is what it says it can be used as on the tube) to make my make up go on different but obviously in a smoother, very positive way. The change this made to my foundation was not positive as it was harder to work with.
Worth the Money?
This retails at £15.50 for 40ml of product which is a fair amount for the price you are paying (bearing in mind this a high end skincare and cosmetics brand).
If you burn in the sun or have oily skin this is ideal as its protects the skin fully and is non-greasey. Great all year round and will go under make up, although it may change the finish.
For the price and the size of the tube it’s a great product if you’re concerned about sun damage or all the pollution from city living.
This is available from department stores, online stores and from the official clinique website:
PS. Other online stores do stock this product so shop around for a better deal or if you have a beauty card with Debenhams you may as well get it in there to get some beauty points!
Part 1 of my LUSH Haul yayyyy x
What is it?
A heat protection spray infused with keratin that claims to protect from heat styling, make hair sleeker, shinier and more manageable without weighing down the hair.
To be completely honest, I’m not going to string this out as there’s not much to say really! This does exactly what it says it does on the bottle.
The spray bottle is lovely and this stuff comes out in a beautiful fine mist. It smells lovely, doesn’t weigh my hair down, doesn’t leave it sticky in any way and makes my hair feel super soft.
A beautiful smooth and shiny finish even if only used when blow drying – perfect!
Worth the Money?
This can be purchased from Boots or Superdrug or even larger chain supermarkets (as usual) for the very reasonable price of £5.99. I love this and will be repurchasing it full price, HOWEVER, Superdrug has it for only £2.95 at the moment so I suggest you all go and grab some while it lasts! Even at full price though, this product is fantastic.
This product is part of a range so if you fancy giving the treatment mask or shampoo or conditioner a go then leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts! I have been using the shampoo as well and I really like it 🙂
What is it?
A BB cream that comes out white and blends into the skin when rubbed in. Light coverage base used in place of a foundation and similar to a tinted moisturiser.
I have to say I was disappointed with this product. For starters it only comes in 3 shades and although it apparently adjusts to your skin tone I’m not convinced everyone would find the right shade for them.
Now, I got the fairest shade, have warmer undertones to my skin and tan really well in summer. I’m not deathly pale by any means but I’m certainly not the colour this came out on my skin!
I like the way it feels on my skin, it’s light, non-oily, minimal coverage (which I don’t mind as my skin is pretty good) and doesn’t make me shiny. However, I am NOT orange! This is supposed to adjust to your skin colour and having worn it several times now, I would say it really doesn’t work for me colour wise.
It does adjust slightly but bearing in mind this is the fairest shade they do I resent having to bronze up my neck a bit to get it matched enough to leave the house. This is just too orangey to me, I don’t think anyone, unless they fake tan is really similar to this colour, it’s not a natural tone for anyone’s skin.
The only time I found I didn’t really have to work with it to get it to match was in the height of summer when I was really tanned. This is the one and only time I can get this to work for me and so I will be saving for then.
Worth the Money?
Personally I won’t be repurchasing this which is a shame as I normally love The Body Shop products. If you have lighter skin tones I definitely don’t recommend this. It’s £12 for a tube which isn’t awful but I’ve heard some amazing things about the BB creams from Dr.Jart so I would suggest trying one of those instead as there are several different type and the colours are a better match for most skin tones.

So today I was feeling some love for my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains and as I have several Bright colours I went for a neutral eye and soft peachy pink cheeks. I finally settled on the gorgeous bright pink ‘Lovesick’ shade.
Happy reading! x
Here is what I used colour wise for this look:
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Revlon Powder Blush in 020 Tawny Peach
Urban Decay Naked Palette
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in Extreme Black
Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in 280 Pink Impact
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick
I did a sheer wash of Urban Decay’s ‘Sin’ from the Naked palette, then to add a bit of depth blended ‘Naked’ into my crease.
Finally I lined my upper lash line with ‘Darkhorse’ and applied Estee Lauder’s Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in ‘Extreme Black’.
I took a big fluffy powder brush and applied a small amount of Nars Laguna Bronzer to my cheekbones, temples and underneath the jaw.
On the apples off my cheeks I then applied Revlon’s Powder Blush in Tawny Peach using an angled fluffy blusher brush.
Now, this might sound a little weird but as my lipliner I used Rimmel’s Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in 280 Pink Impact. I know what you’re thinking – omg, an eyeliner on your lips? no! – well actually yes.
It feels like a lipliner, it has great staying power as it’s waterproof, doesn’t dry my lips out and is the perfect base for the lip colour I used.
I used this to shade in my entire lips and then used a couple of layers of Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick.
